Two Injured After Elevator Cable Snaps In Odisha Hotel

Rayagada: Two persons were injured after an elevator cable snapped at the third floor of a newly-built hotel in the Town this afternoon.

The injured have been identified as Chittaranjan Maharana and Sheikh Shakir Hussein. Both of them have been rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital from where Hussein was shifted to Visakhapatnam after his condition deteriorated.

As per reports, the hotel was inaugurated this morning and the incident took place at around 3 pm.

“Both of them were in the lift when the cables snapped. As a result of which the lift came crashing down injuring both of them,” said a hotel staff.
