Two girls found hanging in Odisha’s Nuapara

Nuapara: In a shocking incident, bodies of two girls, who had gone missing since Thursday, were found hanging from a tree under mysterious circumstances on Saturday.

The deceased have been identified as Padmabati Majhi and Mounabati Majhi. Their bodies were found hanging from a tree inside a jungle at Putkelpada village under Lakhana police limits of the district.

According to sources, both Padmabati and Mounabati had gone to a nearby weekly market on April 11, however, did not return home.

With the help of the villagers, the family members of the deceased girls searched for them in all possible locations, but in vain. However, some locals spotted their mortal remains in the forest today and alerted the local police.

Later, a team of Lakhana police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to the hospital for postmortem. Besides, they have begun an investigation into the matter to ascertain whether this is a murder or suicide.
