Jajpur: Jenapur police today arrested two drivers for staging fake loot of two Hywa tippers in the area on Friday. Police have seized both the vehicles from a junkyard in Jatni and cash worth Rs 2 lakh.
Police said that both the drivers have alleged that six armed miscreants intercepted the tippers and later decamped with the vehicles on gun point. “During investigation we found mismatches in the statements made by both the accused. We went through thy call detail records and subsequently found their involvement in the crime,” said a police official.
Police said that both the accused were in touch with a Jatni based scarp dealer and had also struck a deal of both the vehicles in lieu of Rs 3.5 lakh.
