Puri: Police today detained two persons in connection with photography inside Jagannath temple. A selfie of an Ollywood actress clicked along with his family members has gone viral on social media platforms.
Police toady detained Debashish Singh of Puri and Raja Dalai hailing from Nayagarh. Police detained both of them after the temple administration on Sunday has lodged a formal police complaint.
The photograph which is doing rounds on the internet reportedly features Odia actress Divya having Mahaprasad at Anand Bazar of the temple along with five others.
There is a strict ban on taking mobile phones to the 12th century shrine. According to Section 30-A (4-C) of Jagannath Temple Act 1953, devotees cannot take camera into the shrine. The temple administration too has banned mobile phones to the shrine and temple administration officials said that violation of the Act is a punishable offence and attracts imprisonment up to two months and a penalty of Rs 1,000.
