Two cousins drown in Odisha’s Baitarani river

Keonjhar: A pall of gloom descended on Kodpada village under Anandapur police limits of the district following the death of the two cousins who died after drowning in Baitarani river today.

According to sources, two cousins, who have been identified as Rudra Narayan Ojha of Basantia village and Subha Praksah Sutar of Sadha village in the district, had gone to Biatarani Ghat at Kodpada along with their uncle to take bath this morning. However, they slipped into deep water and later swept away by the river current.

Being alerted by the children’s uncle, some locals called a team of firefighting who rescued the two and rushed them to Anandapur Sub-divisional Hospital. However, doctors who attended Ojha and Sutar declared them brought dead.
