Bhubaneswar: Mancheswar police today arrested two persons in connection with the theft of a Bolero Pickup vehicle from Palasuni area last month. Police have also seized the stolen vehicle.
Both the accused have been identified as Jabhar Khan (450 and Antaryami Das (26), both residents of Cuttack district.
Police said that the owner of the vehicle Pramod Kumar Barik had lodged a police complaint on May 23. “We had credible information that the stolen vehicle is being taken to Balsore for new registration and fitness. We managed to intercept the vehicle near Manguli in Cuttack,” said a police official.
Police said that Khan a motor vehicle mechanic had changed the engine and chassis number in his garage at Jagatpur in Cuttack. “Both of them claimed that they purchased the stolen vehicle from one Pappu Khan staying in Talcher. We are trying to verify their claim,” said the police official.
