Two Arrested In Baripada For Duping On Pretext Of Providing Jobs In Media

Baripada: Police today arrested two youths for allegedly duping people on the pretext of proving jobs in media houses. Police said that the accused have duped around a dozen aspirants in similar fashion.

Both the accused have been identified as Rajib Das and Asish Das. Police have seized two mobile phones and a motorcycle from the accused.

“ Rajib used to collect Rs6000 and Rs 8000 from each aspirants promising them jobs in media houses in the state. We started an investigation after one victim Abhijit Mohanty lodged a police complaint,” said inspector in charge of Baripada police station, Ashok Kumar Nayak.

Subsequently, police laid a trap and asked Rajib to come down for collecting the money. However, Rajib sent his associate who was nabbed by the police in civil clothes. Later police arrested Rajib and forwarded both the accused to the court.
