Two Arrested for Murder Of College Demonstrator In Ganjam

Berhampur: Rambha police today arrested two persons including a student in connection with the murder of a college demonstrator Aswini Mishra on June 30. The accused had killed Mishra by crushing his head with a stone at Biruligad under Rambha Police limits.

The accused have been identified as Janardhan Nayak alias Dana, a resident of Madhurachua village, and Pradip Nahak, a plus-three science student of Burudi village. Police said that Dana was the prime accused in the crime.

“Dana had hatched the murder plot suspecting the deceased of having an illicit affair with his wife. As Pradip was close to the deceased, Dana took advantage of the relationship. He managed to convince Pradip to kill the college demonstrator by promising Rs 1 lakh,” said a police official. Later Pradip murdered Mishra by crushing his head with a stone.

During investigation police first nabbed Dana who confessed to his crime. Subsequently, police arrested Pradip from cricket ground during a tournament at his village. Police have also seized two motorcycles used in the crime.
