Two Arrested For Cheating Rs 3.04 Lakh on Pretext Of Providing Job

Bhubaneswar: Khandagiri police today arrested two persons for allegedly cheating Rs 3.04 lakh on the pretext of proving job. Police said that both the accused have also provided the complainant three fake joining letters.

Both the accused have been identified as Soubhagya Kumar Das (36) and Jigyanshu Ranjan Dash (29).

Police said that Jigyanshu a stabiliser mechanic by profession had visited the house of the complainant in February. “He claimed that he knew a senior official of a reputed firm and promised a job for the son of the complainant. He also took away the original certificates and asked the complainant to deposit the money in the account of Soubhagya,” said a police official.

Both the accused later issued three fake appointment letters. The accused also did not return the money taken by them. The complainant later lodged a police complaint on Tuesday leading to the arrest of both the accused.
