Twin City Covid Update: Bhubaneswar reports 81 covid positive cases, Cuttack reports 5 cases

Bhubaneswar: As on December 5, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has reported 81 new covid positive cases. On the other hand, Cuttack city (CMC area) has reported 5 new cases.

According to reports by BMC, out of the total 81 positive cases detected today, 26 positive cases are quarantine cases while local contact cases are 55. The positive cases linked with earlier positive cases are 26.

The total cases in Bhubaneswar now stand at 1, 21,779 while the total recovered cases are 1, 19, 465. The total death cases recorded in the BMC is 1087.  Active cases in the city are 1206.

Out of the total 5 positive cases registered in CMC on Sunday, 02 case of home quarantine, and 03 are local contact cases. On the other hand no cases of institutional quarantine were registered today.

Total Covid-19 cases in Cuttack city are 45,244 while the recovered cases are 44,636. The active cases today are 517.

In the last 24 hours, Cuttack city has reported 8 recovered cases while in Bhubaneswar 103 recovered cases were registered.

A total of  189 Covid-19 positive cases including 25 in the 0-18 years age group have been detected positive in Odisha in the last 24 hours taking the tally to 10,50,249  informed the Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Department on Sunday.

Among the 189 positives, 113 are quarantine cases and 75 are local contacts.
