Cuttack: A case of corporal punishment has come to the fore at Koliatha village under Mahanga police limits in Cuttack district of Odisha today in which a fourth class student was reportedly beaten by his tuition teacher.
The student’s hand was allegedly broken and there were bruise marks on his back after his tuition teacher, Mrutyunjay Samal, thrashed him.
The kid, who has been identified as Sushil Kumar Badhei, was admitted to Mahanga hospital and later he was shifted to a Cuttack-based hospital as his health condition deteriorated.
The kid’s family members have filed a complaint with the Mahanga police.
On the other hand, Mrutyunjay claimed that Sushil had not completed his maths homework for the last five days due to which he beat him.
