Keonjhar: Tension prevailed at Brahmanipal in the district following the murder of a truck owner this morning. Locals staged a road blockade at Brahmanipal disrupting vehicular movements in the locality demanding immediate arrest of the culprits.
Police said that the deceased identified as Niranjan Sahu (39) was staying at his in-laws’ house at Jardapala.
His family members alleged he went out of his house after receiving a call on his mobile. “He did not return for long and when we tried to contact him over his mobile it remained switched off. Later we searched for him and found his body,” said a relative of the deceased.
The body of Sahu was found with his throat slit. Police said that though the exact reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, business rivalry might be the motive behind the crime.
