Tribute to Mahatma Gandhi: Odisha CM Naveen urges to include ‘Ahimsa’ in Preamble of India’s Constitution

New Delhi: “Including ‘Ahimsa’ (Non-Violence) in Preamble of India’s Constitution would be the greatest tribute to Mahatma Gandhi,” said Odisha Chief Minster Naveen Patnaik today. Patnaik said this while attending the first preparatory meeting of the celebration of 150th year of Mahatma Gandhiji’s birth anniversary at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

President Ram Nath Kovind chaired the meeting which was attended by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several Union Ministers and Chief Ministers.

It is worthwhile to mention here that the Union Government has allotted Rs 150 crore for the grand celebration of the sesquicentennial birth anniversary of Gandhi next year.
