Tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee: Odisha Govt declares holiday tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: As a mark of tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who breathed his last this evening, Odisha government declared a week-long National Mourning and government holiday tomorrow.

According to a notification issued by the Chief Minister’s Office, all government offices, schools and colleges across the state will remain closed tomorrow.

Besides, there will be no any celebration at any government establishments of the state for the next seven days.

This apart, the national flag will be flown at half-mast as a sign of mourning for Vajpayee who is considered as a great visionary and “Bhishma Pitamah of Indian Politics” .

Likewise, the opening ceremony of All India CRPF Athletic Meet 2018 scheduled in Bhubaneswar has been cancelled due to death of the former PM.

Notably, Vajpayee breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
