Bhubaneswar: Panic gripped the people after a tremor struck in various places in western Odisha on Wednesday evening.
The mild tremor was felt in Sambalpur, Deogarh, and Jharsuguda districts and a few other places in the western region of the state at around 5.49 PM.
Sources said, the tremor continued for a few seconds. Many people rushed out of their homes out of fear due to the mild shaking of the earth’s surface in the rgion.
No report of deaths and injuries came from the affected areas till the news was filed.
