Transport Commissioner Asks RTOs To Accept Vehicle Documents In Both Physical Or Electronic Form

Bhubaneswar: Vehicle related documents such as driving license, registration certificate in electronic form presented through DigiLocker or mParivahan apps will be treated at par with the original document.

Transport Commissioner, Sanjeeb Panda today directed all Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) to accept electronic form of documents during enforcement drives.

The DigiLocker platform of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the mParivahan mobile app of the Road Transport and Highways Ministry have the facility to pull a citizen’s driving licence or the registration certificate or any other certificate in an electronic form. 

“ In case a citizen is unable to show the digital copy or information on DigiLocker or mParivahan app, the enforcement agency can verify the details of DL and RC on their mParivahan app or e-challan app,” read a letter of the Transport Commissioner.
