Transgender MLA Candidate Kajal Nayak Clears Matric Exams

Jajpur: Kajal Nayak, Odisha’s first transgender candidate to contest polls, has successfully cleared the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examination conducted by Board of Secondary Examination (BSE). The result of the annual exams were declared on Tuesday.

Kajal (27), popularly known as Kajal Kinnar, had appeared the annual exam in March this year. She is a well-known social worker and the president of Jajpur’s Transgender Association.

Kajal is also contesting from Korei assembly constituency on a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) ticket.

On passing the examination, Kajal said she is glad to have cleared the matriculation and expressed her eagerness to pursue higher studies.
