Training Camp For Sport Climbing To Begin From July 26 In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) in collaboration with state Sports and Youth Services department has set up a High-Performance Centre for Sport Climbing at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar with an aim to take the Indian Sport Climbing to International level.

IMF plans to start training in sport climbing for the boys and girls of 10 to 16 years of age group with effect from 26 July 2019. Professional National/ International level has been hired to conduct the training.                     

Sport climbing is now an Olympic discipline making its debut in 2020 in Tokyo and 2024 in Paris.  In view of this, the IMF has planned a detailed roadmap with an aim to spread awareness about the sport and identify athletes at an early age.

Registration has started at 10 AM on 18 July 2019 at climbing wall site located near the North stand of the hockey complex at the Kalinga stadium which is free of cost.
