Trade Unions’ Strike: Odisha Secretariat employees to reach office early; know details if visiting Secretariat

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has asked the officers and employees of every department to reach their respective offices at the state secretariat early in view of the Trade Unions’ strike tomorrow.

According to a notification issued by the Home Department of the state government, all Department employees have been asked to reach the Secretariat by 9.30 am in view of the all India strike call given by the Trade Unions on January 8 and 9.

The notification said that the front gates of the secretariat will be closed at 10.15 am on Tuesday and Wednesday. All the passage will be regulated through the rear gate and the connecting gate between the Red Building and Main secretariat building will remain open.

Security check of Identity Cards and Passes of the employees and visitors will be intensified. Traveling in a vehicle having Car Pass will not be permitted without valid authority for entry.

This apart, the officers, employees and visitors, in case of any untoward occurrence, have been asked to inform the Additional Secretary of Home Department by dialing 2393849. The Assistant Commissioner of Police, Secretariat Security may also be contacted though – 2322522.

Entry of the visitors will be restricted. However, persons having prior appointment and whose business is pressing and immediate will be given the entry passes by the Receptionist after seeking prior consent of the Officers concerned. The visitors have been directed to leave immediately after their interview/meeting.

Further, the employees have been asked to remain in their seats and attend to their duties without making much movement around.
