Narasinghpur: Tension ran high at Mardamokha under Narasinghpur police limits in Cuttack district today after a school boy was mowed down by a tractor and his sister sustained critical injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Amar Nayak of the same locality.
As per the report, Amar was returning home from tuition along with his sister this morning when the mishap took place. The driver of a tractor owned by L&T company lost control over the wheels and ended up hitting the duo from behind.
While Amar was bled profusely due to head injury caused in the crash and died on the spot his sister sustained minor injury.
Irate locals detained the tractor post the crash and staged a road blockade at the accident site demanding compensation for the kin of the deceased.
Police reached the spot later in the morning and sent the body for autopsy.
