Toll gate employees misbehave with MP Savitri Thakur; BJP seeks action Pipili: The toll gate employees of the town on NH 316 in Puri district allegedly misbehaved with Madhya Pradesh MP Savitri Thakur here on Monday.

According to reports, the toll gate employees asked toll fee from Thakur while she was returning from Puri by a car (OD17G 5432) along with others. However, the co-travellers of the Parliamentarian refused to pay the fee following which a heated argument ensued between them.

Some of the BJP activists of the nearby area rushed to the spot after getting information and staged a road blockade demanding action against the toll gate employees. Many vehicles were left stranded on the Bhubaneswar-Puri route for some times until Pipili police reached the spot and managed to pacify the irate saffron party workers.

The road blockade was lifted after police assured action against those involved in the incident. Police also detained one of the toll gate employees and is interrogating him over the matter. Action will be taken on the basis of CCTV footage, The police said.

The Parliamentarian has accompanied Union Minister of state for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Gajendra Singh Shekhawat to take stock of the drought like situation and pest menace in Odisha. The team had visited to Puri this morning.
