Tobacco duplicating unit busted, 150 litre illicit liquor seized in Bhadrak

Bhadrak: Launching a crackdown on illegal narcotics business in the district, police busted a duplicate tobacco manufacturing unit and seized huge cache of illicit liquor after conducting separate raids today.

As per the report, a team of Bhadrak Rural Police conducted a raid at Prachinagar area this morning after getting a tip-off on a tobacco manufacturing unit.

During the raid the team managed to seize duplicate zarda worth lakhs of rupees along with packaging machines, labels of several popular tobacco brands and materials used in making tobacco products from the spot.

However, the owner and staff of the unit managed to escape from the spot ahead of police raid and efforts are on to catch them.

In yet another raid by Bhadrak Rural Police later in the morning, it intercepted a country liquor laden Mahindra Bolero at Bachhipur Chhak on Bhadrak-Chandbali Road and seized it.

While a total of 150 litre country liquor was seized from the Bolero, the accused driver managed to give police a slip during the raid.

Police have launched a massive manhunt to nab the absconding driver in the case and started investigation.
