Tirtol MLA Bijay Shankar-Somalika Discord: Somalika Appears Before Marriage Registrar Again

Cuttack: Somalika Dash, the rumoured girlfriend of BJD’s Tirtol MLA Bijay Shankar Das, appeared before the marriage registrar’s office in Cuttack again on Tuesday.
Somalika Dash has filed an objection at the marriage registrar’s office in Cuttack after the MLA filed an application for marriage with another woman, Pratyusha Nanda of Cuttack. Somalika claims that Pratyusha is a married woman.
The marriage registrar’s office had asked her to prove her allegations by producing witnesses, data, and documentary evidence.
Somalika had previously filed a petition with the Orissa High Court seeking a stay on the MLA’s application for marriage with another woman.
However, the High Court had rejected the petition citing that the case is sub-judice as the Cuttack district marriage registration officer is investigating the matter.
The Tirtol MLA has denied all allegations against him and has said that he is free to marry anyone he wants.
