Tigress ‘Sundari’ unleashes fear again, kills bullock in Tainsi village

Angul: With no respite in sight from tigress ‘Sundari’ attack in Satkosia area in the district, the Royal Bengal Tiger yesterday killed a bullock in Tainsi village near Baghamunda yesterday.

The incident came to light after some locals from Kumuri village spotted the body of the bullock and called up forest officials.

Forest officials swung into action immediately and rushed a four-member tranquilizer team to the village to prevent the tigress from unleashing more fear.

Notably, tension ran high in Satkosia area earlier yesterday after the tigress killed a man namely Trinath Sahu (65) in the same village while he was on his way for fishing and later seriously injured an electronic media journalist Raghunath Sahu after he reached the spot to cover the incident.

Angry locals of Tainsi of Tikarpada, blocked National Highway 55 at Jarapada square protesting the tigress attack and pelted stones at a police van before setting it on fire later in the day. To contain the violence police fired tear gas and resorted to lathi-charge on the villagers.
