Cuttack: Tigiria’s Gadjata Queen Rasmanjari Devi passed away at the age of 96. She breathed her last this evening at her residence, informed sources.
Sources said that Queen Rasmanjari Devi was suffering from old age-related ailments for the last several months. She was the wife of the last king of Gadajat regime late Brajaraj Birabar Kshatriya Champatisingh Mohapatra.
It is to be noted here that Queen Rasmanjari Devi represented Athagarh constituency as Janata Dal MLA from 1977 to 1980.
Her last rite is likely to be performed at the royal crematorium tomorrow, added the sources.
Meanwhile, gloom descended on Asthgarh following her death.
