Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Department on Tuesday sounded rain accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning for 10 districts of Odisha.
In a press release, the weather department said that thunderstorm accompanied with hail and gusty surface wind speed reaching 50 to 60 kmph likely to occur over Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal and Koraput districts between 4.15 PM and 8.30 PM today. Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Balasore and Jajpur districts will also witness the same till 7.15 PM.
This apart, the Meteorological department said that the coastal parts of the state and Southern districts will also witness lighting and rain in the next 24 hours.
As per the earlier forecast of the MeT, the Nor’wester rains (Kala Baishakhi) would continue in several parts of Odisha till April 13. However, its impact will come down gradually from April 14, following which temperature will soar again. Temperature is likely to cross 40 degree Celsius after April 15.
