Bhubaneswar: In what could create panic among the people of the state, who have witnessed the loss of nearly three dozen human lives due to lightning in the last two days, the regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has predicted thunderstorm and lightning in most districts of the state on Tuesday too.
Thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur in 18 districts of the state between 1.30 PM to 5.30 PM, said a press release issued by the Met department this afternoon.
The 18 districts where nature’s fury could wreak havoc are Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Puri, Khurda, Angul, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Boudh and Jajpur.
People of these districts have been advised to take shelter in nearby buildings or other safe locations during these hours.
More than 30 people have been killed in lightning in different places of the state in the last two days. Most of the deceased were farmers killed by lightning while working in the fields.
