Bhubaneswar: Police arrested three snatchers involved in a series in snatching incidents from the state capital last night.
Police have seized as many as 30 vanity bags and 14 mobile phones from the accused. The accused have been identified as Trilochan Nath (19), Sushant Moharana (20) and Pratyush Khatua (19).
Police said that the trio was arrested during an investigation into a case of snatching that took place on July 7. “The accused snatched the vanity bag on one Suchismita Das while she was returning from Unit I market. The vanity bag contained cash of Rs 4000, a mobile phone and a pen drive,’ said a police official.
Police said that further investigation revealed the accused of being involved in eight cases of snatching in and around Bhubaneswar. “All of them have been forwarded to the court today and we are further verifying their antecedents,” added the police official.
