Three Sisters Die Of Possible Gas Poisoning In Odisha

Berhampur: Two sisters who were undergoing treatment at MKCG Medical College and Hospital after they fell sick of gas poisoning on Wednesday died today. Earlier the third sister has died last night.

The three minor girls staying at Turubudi village under Digapahandi block in Ganjam district reportedly fell sick after they were suffocated due to insecticide kept in a rice bag.

The deceased have been identified as Tikina Reddy (6), Sona Reddy (7) and Barsha Reddy (10). “They were sleeping in a room with their grandmother. They fell unconscious on Wednesday night and we immediately rushed them to the nearest hospital where one of them died. Two others were shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital and both of died as well,” said a relative of the deceased.

Meanwhile a team of medical experts have reached the village to investigate the deaths.
