Koraput: The Railway Protection Force (RPF), Koraput today arrested three hawkers including a woman for allegedly transporting ganja weighing around 45 kilograms from Damanjodi railway station.
RPF officials said that the three accused hailing from Bengal were nabbed while waiting for a train to Howrah at the station. “We have received input of smuggling of ganja through hawkers. Accordingly, they were nabbed and we seized three bags containing ganja,” officials said.
Local police have also been intimated to ascertain the source of procurement of ganja. “The accused used to travel to several villages in the district for hawking. We are further interrogating them,” added the official.
