Malkangiri: Panic gripped Govindapalli High School in the district after the CCTV cameras installed at the school captured three bears including two cubs entering the premises last night.
As per reports, the school authorities spotted the bears entering into the campus and later chased the wild animals.
“We have informed the matter to the forest officials to ensure the safety of school children. We have also asked the students to remain alert,” said a school staff. Around 1800 students are currently staying at the residential school.
Villagers also said that the bears have been straying into the human habitat for past few days. “Most of us are afraid of venturing outside after evening. We demand the forest officials to catch the animals and release the bears in forest area,” said a villager.
