Rourkela: The Sector 7 police today arrested three youths for allegedly gang-raping a minor girl in the area on September 22.
Police said that the victim had been to her relative’s house to celebrate a local festival. “While she was returning the accused asked her to drop her at home and raped her. They also threatened her of dire consequences if she told anyone about the incident,” said a police official.
The victim initially hesitated to share the matter with her family members. She, however, narrated her ordeal to her family members who lodged a formal police complaint on Saturday evening.
“We have conducted medical tests of the accused and the victim as well. The accused were forwarded to the court today,’ said a police official.
