Three Arrested For Abduction Of Businessman In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Police today arrested three persons in connection with the abduction of city-based businessman Shiv Sundar Das on gunpoint on June 8. The victim, however, had an escape after the SUV used for his abduction was hit by a truck near Vani Vihar.

The accused have been identified as Padma Lochan Nayak (29), Kalpataru Jena (29) and Muna Barik (25). Police have also arrested one Santosh Kumar Sahu for purchasing a stolen car from the accused.

The cops also recovered three stolen cars, two motorcycles and the mobile phone of the businessman from their possession. The businessman was sleeping in his SUV when the group of miscreants reached the spot and abducted him along with his car on gunpoint.

Police had also found two pistols and two mobile phones from the SUV which was deserted by the accused. Police said that the accused is involved in a number of cases of robbery, dacoity and loot in Bhubaneswar and adjoining areas. Police said that they are also trying to nab the other members of the gang.
