Bhadrak: Tension ran high at Ghanteswar (Junior) Mahavidyalaya on Saturday as students of the institute staged a demonstration protesting the hike of the admission fees.
Hundreds of Plus Two students reportedly staged a dharna in front of the college by burning tires. They alleged that the College authorities supposed to take Rs 520 for admission of each student but they are demanding Rs 1000 per student.
The protesting students also claimed that they had reportedly requested the college authorities time and again to reduce the admission fee. However, as their request went unheard, the Plus Two students of the college staged the demonstration today.
The College authorities, following the demonstration, were forced to have a discussion with the students.
The meeting between the students and College authorities is underway.
