Baripada: Tension prevailed in Karanjia Sub-Divisional Hospital in Mayurbhanj district today after a woman patient died under treatment and her family members created a ruckus on its premises alleging medical negligence by the staff.
As per the report, family members of a woman patient had admitted her to Karanjia hospital two days ago. However, after treating at Ward No. 5 the doctors in the hospital had discharged the patient a few hours later. But as the condition of the woman deteriorated further today her family rushed her to the hospital again where she succumbed under treatment.
Family members of the deceased created a ruckus at the hospital over the incident and thrashed a doctor alleging negligence on the part of the staff.
Police rushed to the spot later and tried to pacify the irate mob.
