Tension at Pipili hospital over patient’s death

Pipili: Tension prevailed at Pipili Community Health Centre (CHC) last night after a critically sick patient died under treatment and his family members alleged medical negligence on the part of the hospital authorities.

The deceased identified as Gajendra Muduli of Narapur village of Puri district was rushed to the CHC by his family members in critical condition last night. He was suffering from high fever as well as paralysis and kidney related ailments.

As per the allegation of Ganjendra’s family, no doctor was present to attend the patient when he was admitted to the CHC and a Pharmacist carried out the preliminary treatment. The patient’s condition deteriorated further due to lack of proper treatment later and he died at around 12 o’clock in the night.

Angry family members of the deceased created ruckus at the CHC by keeping his body and demanded action on the guilty doctor by the CDMO.

The protest at the hospital continued till this morning and the CDMO had not reached the spot till this report was being filed.
