Bhadrak: Tightening the noose around the necks of illegal liquor traders in the state, police seized a tempo carrying over 200 litre country liquor conducting a raid in Haladidiha area under Puruna Bazar police limits today.
Cops also arrested the driver of the vehicle identified as Rashmi Ranjan Behera of the same area.
The raid was conducted this morning after Puruna Bazar Police got a tip-off on the liquor consignment which was on its way to Tihidi from Balasore. After intercepting the vehicle on Bhadrak-Chandbali road, a police team seized a number of illicit liquor packets kept in sacks and took Behera into custody.
Police said, interrogation of the held driver is underway and efforts are on to examine whether he is a part of a larger network or not.
