Temperature crosses 40 degree Celsius in 8 places in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Sweltering heat continued to affect normal life in most parts of Odisha with mercury crossing 40 degrees Celsius at eight places on Wednesday.

According to the latest bulletin of the regional Meteorological department, Titlagarh emerged as the hottest place in the state with a maximum temperature of 41.5 degrees Celsius.

Apart from Titlagarh, seven other places also recorded temperature more than 40 degree Celsius today. They are Malkangiri (41.2), Sonepur (41.2), Talcher (41.10, Balangir (41), Bhawanipatna (40.3), Jharsuguda (40.2) and Angul (40.0).

Likewise, the state capital city Bhubaneswar recorded a maximum temperature of 36.4 degrees Celsius while millennium city Cuttack recorded 36 degree Celsius.

The weatherman further informed that tour other places witnessed temperature over 36 degree Celsius. They are Sambalpur (39), Hirakud (38.9), Sundargarh (38) and Chandbali (36.3).
