Baripada: Odisha Vigilance today arrested Satya Sundar Rout, Tehsildar of Raruan Tehsil and Kamal Lochan Patra, the Amin of Bhanjakia, under the Tahasil of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district over bribery charges.
According to reports, the Vigilance apprehended Kamal Lochan Patra, the Amin of Bhanjakia, under Raruan Tahasil, while demanding and accepting a bribe Rs 15000 from a complainant to issue Record of Rights (ROR) (patta) of his plot. The amount was an installment against an overall demand of Rs 40,000. However, the entire bribe money has been recovered from Rout, Tahasildar and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on properties of Rout at 4 locations and Patra at 1 location respectively from DA angle.
In this connection, Balasore Vigilance PS Case no 19/ 2022 under section 7PC Amendment Act.2018 has been registered.
Further investigation is in progress against both the accused Tehsildar and Amin.
