Rourkela: In yet another unfortunate incident, an 18-year-old girl was killed after being hit by a bus near Panposh Chhak here on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Mahima Tanti.
According to reports, Mahima was coming from Dandiapali area on a bicycle when the bus hit her from behind, resulting in her immediate death.
On intimation, police reached the spot and arrested the bus driver.
Meanwhile, tension gripped the area post the incident. Locals staged a protest in front of the Raghunathpali police station, demanding Rs 10 lakh compensation for kin of the victim.
