Teachers In Odisha To Be Vaccinated On Priority Basis

Bhubaneswar: The Department of Health has been instructed to vaccinate all the teachers of Odisha on a priority basis in view of the reopening of schools.

All the private and government schools of the state will reopen from July 26. However, the classes will begin only for standard 10 and 12 on physical mode.

It is to be noted that there are about 2, 50,000 teachers in schools from class 1-10. Similarly, there are approximately 40,000 teachers for 11th and 12th classes.

So far, 75% of the teachers have received the first dose of Covid vaccine while 35% have received the second dose.

The state government has decided to reopen the classes for 9th and 11th students soon. The class 10 board examinations will begin from July 30.

Hence, all the teachers are required to get vaccinated on a priority basis.
