Bhubaneswar: in a major development this evening, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced the abolition of Block Grant system and replaced it with Grant-in-aid, which means Teachers will now get full salary. It will come into effect from January 1, 2018.
However, they won’t be able to avail the benefits of 7th Pay Commission recommendations. While announcing the decision, CM urged the teachers to call off their agitation and go back to schools.
The teachers have withdrawn their stir, which was continuing for the last 17 days and welcomed the decision.
