Tapaswini-Sumit marital discord: Orissa HC Reduces Maintenance To Rs. 10,000

Bhubaneswar: In today’s development in the ongoing Berhampur marital discord case, Sumit Sahu has to pay Rs 10,000 to Tapaswini Dash as per the Court’s order towards her maintenance.

Orissa High court today lowered the monthly maintenance amount from Rs. 17,000 to Rs. 10,000 today.

It is to be noted that, Sumit’s family had filed an appeal assuring arrangements of Tapaswini’s stay elsewhere.

The Court decided that Sumit will now pay monthly maintenance of Rs 10,000 to Tapaswini but she will stay at her in-laws place till the next hearing.

Earlier, on January 4, District and Sessions court of Ganjam ordered that Tapaswini Dash will stay with her husband, Dr Sumit Sahu, in her in-laws’ place in Bramhanagar.

It is noteworthy that, Tapaswini was protesting in front of her in-laws’ house since a long time.

After protesting in front of the house for some days, with the help of some local women she got entry to the Veranda of the house and later the Court directed her in-laws to keep her in  their house.
