Berhampur: In a recent development in the much-hyped Berhampur marital discord case of Tapaswini Dash and Sumit Sahu, the couple has to go for marriage counseling yet again.
Reportedly, the District Collector of Ganjam district has suggested marriage counseling for the couple. A month has completed to Tapaswini’s dharna in front of Sumit’s house.
Meanwhile, Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal sought a report regarding Sumit and Tapaswini’s marital dispute from Ganjam collector. A letter has also been sent from Raj Bhavan to the Ganjam collector for the investigation of the case.
Tapaswini’s lawyer has filed a petition in the District Court challenging the verdict of Berhampur Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Court.
On the other hand, Ganjam district administration has imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) in Brahma Nagar of Berhampur. Tapaswini has been protesting in Brahma Nagar for her rights to be accepted as the legal wife of Sumit.
