Sword attack over extortion of money leaves 5 injured in Bhubaneswar CRP Square

Bhubaneswar: At least five people sustained injuries after they were allegedly attacked with swords over extortion of money at CRP Square of Bhubaneswar this evening.

According to reports, around 25 miscreants armed with swords and other sharp weapons attacked five members of Hum Tum Puja Committee allegedly over extortion of money.

However, Ashutosh, one of the members of Puja Committee, luckily escaped from the miscreants and filed a complaint at Nayapalli Police Station over the incident.

Meanwhile, police is said to have started an investigation into the matter.

The incident came at a time when the Bhubaneswar–Cuttack Police Commissionerate has announced zero tolerance of extortion of money, especially during the festive season.
