Bhubaneswar: The Government of Odisha on Friday reinstated suspended IPS officer Satish Kumar Gajbhiye.
The senior officer is all set to take charge as the Superintendent of Police (SP) at the Commissionerate of Police Headquarters.
Gajbhiye, then Kendarapra SP, was suspended in August 2015 for police excess on people during their demonstrations against controversial self-styled godman Santosh Raula alias Sarathi Baba in Kendarapra.
The officer was also accused of assaulting a lawyer and forcing him to do sit-ups at that time. The lawyer also happens to be BJP’s Kendrapara district unit President.
