New Delhi: Akhtar Hussain Khan of Samantarapur under Kisan Nagar police limits in Cuttack district, who was interrogated by an eight-member team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) over suspected terror link on November 29, is slated to appear before the NIA headquarters here today.
The NIA notice was issued to him as a witness under Section 160 of the CrPC. Sources said, that Akhtar Hussain was issued the notice over his link with the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist Abdul Naeem, who was arrested on November 28 from Varanasi by the NIA and Uttar Pradesh Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS).
Naeem had reportedly named Khan of having link with him during the interrogation.
“I am a true Hindustani and I have faith in the judiciary system of the country. I am no way related to any terrorist or terror group. Truth will prevail,” said Khan while speaking to Kalinga TV after reaching Delhi.
” I often had talked to one of my former colleagues and friends, who presently resides in Lahore city of Pakistan,” he added.
He had earlier pleaded his innocence and even had demanded apology from the NIA officials and Cuttack SP claiming the raid and interrogation has tarnished his image.
