Two women legislators likely to be inducted in Council of Ministers

Bhubaneswar: Senior Biju Janata Dal  (BJD) leader and Digapahandi legislator Surya Narayan Patro is set to become new Speaker of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, BJD sources said on Tuesday.

Party sources also said that at least 17 legislators have received phone calls from Naveen Niwas, resident of CM Naveen Patnaik, who will likely to be sworn-in as Minister of the Naveen Government.

The legislators who received phone calls from  Naveen Niwas include Jharsuguda MLA Naba Das, Mahanga MLA Pratap Jena, Titlagarh MLA Tukuni Sahu, Bhatli MLA Sushant Singh, Ekamra-Bhubaneswar MLA Ashok Panda, Birmaharajpur MLA Padmanav Behera, Nimapada MLA Samir Das, Bhanjanagar MLA Bikram Arukh, Junagarh MLA Dibya Shankar Mishra, Bissam Cuttack MLA Jagannath Saraka, Kotpad MLA Padmini Dian, Kamakhya Nagar MLA Prafulla Mallick, Balikuda-Erasama MLA Raghunandan Das and Athagarh MLA Ranendra Pratap Swain .

BJD President Naveen Patnaik will take oath as the Chief Minister of Odisha for a record fifth consecutive term. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at the Exhibition Ground here on May 29.
