Supreme Court judgements now available in Odia language

New Delhi: In a first of its kind, the Supreme Court of India on Thursday uploaded its judgements in Odia and five other vernacular languages in its official website www.sci.gov.in.

The other vernacular languages in which the top court’s judgments were uploaded on its website include Assamese, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, and Telugu.

In Odia language, the apex court today uploaded its verdict on “The State of Odisha Vs Chandra Nandi” and “Union of India Vs Shankar Prasad Deep etc.”

As of now, English is the official language of the Supreme Court and High Courts. However, the district courts use regional languages for passing orders, judgement, conducting the proceedings etc.
