Supplementary budget of Rs 12,790 cr tabled in Odisha Assembly

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Finance Minister Sashi Bhusan Behera on Wednesday tabled a supplementary budget to the tune of Rs 12,790 crore for 2018-19 in the State Legislative Assembly for approval on the second day of the ongoing monsoon session.

Briefing the newsmen about the Supplementary budget, the Minister said that out of the total amount, provision of Rs 1800 crore has been made towards Administrative Expenditure, Rs 9611 crore for Programme Expenditure, Rs 1364 towards Disaster Response Funds and Rs 15 crore for Transfers from State Budget.

The supplementary budget includes Rs 750 crore for salary of Sikhya Sahayaks, Rs 350 crore for loan repayment and Rs 41 crore for simultaneous polls.

Of total Rs 2075 crore expenditure allotted for Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana, Odisha will provide Rs 1375 crore while Centre will grant Rs 700 crore under Funds Division between State and Centre, informed Finance secretary TK Pandey, in the press meet today.

The Finance Minister presented the supplementary budget amid ruckus by opposition Congress and BJP members following which, Speaker Pradip Kumar Amat adjourned the Assembly till tomorrow.
